In the first quarter of 2022, Heartitude participated in KidStart; a dedicated agency to provide upstream support to children aged 0 to 6 years old from low-income families and deepen partnerships between the community and Government to give these children a good start in life.
Heartitude’s role is simply to bring the fresh produce with love to them. The families are usually made up of working parents with young kids (sometimes together with their elders) and the former may not have the resources to pick up themselves.
I reminisced the days I used to live in a rented unit in AMK. My budget for dinner was $2, rarely a little bit more, to feed a 15-year-old me, 14 year-old-sister, and my single-parent mum who works shifts in a factory. This amount was good enough for Yong Tau Foo (an assorted mix of fishball, tofu, veg, and fish paste). Life wasn’t easy and I am still grateful to the uncle in the wet market nearby, always giving me an extra fishball. ^^ I imagine that uncle then was paying forward, now is my turn. Bringing the fresh produce to the families at their doorstep.
I do not think it is prudent to put part of the budget into logistics which has risen considerably due to the ever-increasing fuel cost. I hope with this note, Heartitude welcomes helpful drivers with vehicle to contribute to the logistic part of this monthly delivery. Do reach me via my mobile.
