Earlier this year, Heartitude was sharing some knowledge about fruits. We thank the sponsors for the a bag of nutritious fruits as a reward which only requires them to fill up their fruit intake for the past week. Many handed up their "homework" with details of what fruits and the portion they took.

Their take away;

1) Purple fruits like grapes and blue berries contains high anti-oxidants which alleviate gastrointestinal issues and UTIs, regulate blood sugar, boost urinary tract health and memory function and aid healthy aging.

2) Yellow/orange fruits eg: banana, orange, pineapple, papaya have high vitamins, potassium and Lycopene and help lower risk of inflammation, chronic disease, and improves vision. They can also lower cholesterol and blood pressure. Their high level of fibre also maintain a clean digestive system.

3) Green Fruits like Green apples and grapes, honeydew and watermelon contains Vitamins K, C, folate and phytochemical, they promote health growth in during pregnancy and developing children.

4) Red fruits like strawberries, cranberries, red cherries n apples containsVitamins C and phytochemical like Anthocyanins may protect against cardiovascular and neurological diseases, diabetes and some cancers.

As we can see, theres a mix of nutrients across the colours of fruits and they are encouraged to eat a rainbow of fruits while watching their blood sugar level.

The Uncles and Aunties were very spontaneous in their games and answering questions. We have lots of fun and I look forward to the next one.

PS: Prizes were given just for guessing the right letters and you get the energy similar to the stock exchange in the 80s. lol. We fell in love with their enthusiasm, and in love with what we do.
