It was 10 years of trying and trying and not giving up, their tenacity finally paid off. The birth of their firstborn, a precious member, flesh and blood was brought into this world with lots of love matched by their cautious anticipation.
During pregnancy the body changes… physically and psychologically. I witnessed that 5 times with my dear wife and saw phenomenal strength to meet the changes. The morning sickness, scent and food aversions and cravings, heartburns, tender breast, swelling of ankles and knees. pinched nerves that causes sharp pain down the spine to the legs and much more. many of the mummies are still carrying on with their daily work and routines for MONTHS while fighting anxiety and depression…. Comparatively, going thru the 3 months BMT (part of national service for every Singaporean boys) in place of the pregnancy, is a rest and relax for mummies. lol!
“Alvin, please come join us to receive our baby in the hospital?” requested the happy parents. Jason continued: “The hospital allows only 2 caregivers, can you give me you detail so that I can register you as the second? “Only if you allow me to drive u guys home!” I countered with mixed feelings of happiness and pride. My role as a life planner has earned me wonderful friendships, and thru this I found fulfilment and joy.

This is the gift of God and a celebration of life, now in our care to raise them with courage, responsibility and love; to be a parent I can be proud of.
